Words by Caleb Rickett
Eric was an excellent skateboarder with a heart to reach out to young kids by teaching them skateboarding. He was also a really nice person. He had a way of making everyone who he just met feel like they have known him for a long while. He was always positive and gave time for everyone.
When he would teach the kids on how to skateboard. He had such a great connection with them. Not only that he also has mentored the local skateboarders in ScottsValley and Santa Cruz. Eric will always have a place in our hearts for what he has done for the skateboarders and the community.
Eric was lost to an accident at the Scott's Valley Skatepark while doing a demonstration for his class. He took a hard fall and passed away due to injuries to his head. He leaves behind a son, Taylor (14), father and girlfriend. A memorial fund has been set up by his father for Taylor.
