Since taking about 10 years off from skating, Garret has been skating pretty consistently for the past four years. In the late 80’s and early 90’s, he was a sponsored amateur for Epic Skateboards and Vision Street Wear. While in college, at San Jose State University, in 1995, Garret met his future wife MaryAnn. MaryAnn is responsible for bringing Garret to the Lord in 1998. He refers to MaryAnn as his angel from God. Garret and MaryAnn wed in June of 2001 and continue to be very involved in their church in Los Angeles (New Life Christian Center). Garret and MaryAnn have two beautiful daughters and always thank God for being so good.

Garret describes himself as shy and would say that he leads more by example. He hopes that the people he meets while skating, see him as an influence and are able to see the light of God shine from him. God has given Garret a passion for skateboarding and skateboard photography and he plans to use them as a springboard to lead others to Christ.
